An 8-page zine, from a single sheet of A4

A small magazine made by one person. Ours has 8 pages and comes from a single sheet of A4 printed on one side: three folds and one cut, no staples and no glue.

Yes. The sheet divides into 8 rectangles of 74 × 105 mm (A7 size). Folded, they land in the right reading order with the cover on the front.

Nothing. The editor and the print-ready A4 sheet are free; on a free account the back cover carries a small Cadru mark. You do not need an account to start; with one, your zine stays saved and opens on any device.

No. It prints on one side only, so no duplex printer is needed. Any A4 printer works, at 100% scale (no "fit to page").

Between 6 and 8. Every page shows something, and one panoramic photo can fill two facing pages - so 6 photos can complete all 8.

Yes. In your account every album has "Make a zine from this album", and in the editor you can bring in photos from your other creations.

Ordinary 80-120 gsm paper folds most easily. Heavier paper looks nicer, but above 160 gsm the creases start to crack.

1. Print one-sided, A4, landscape, at 100% - not "fit to page". The top row comes out upside down: that is right.
2. Fold the sheet in half, top to bottom. Crease it well and unfold.
3. Fold it in half left to right and unfold. Then bring each side edge to that middle crease, crease and unfold: the creases divide the sheet into 8 pages.
4. Fold it in half left to right again. Cut from the folded edge along the middle crease, only up to the first crease - no further.
5. Unfold and fold the sheet lengthwise, photos outside. Hold the ends and push them toward the middle: the cut opens into a diamond.
6. Keep pushing: the pages close into a cross, then meet two by two.
7. Wrap them around the cover (page 1) and press the spine well. Done.

Yes. You choose whether your zine appears in the public catalogue, where anyone can read it on screen and print their own copy. You can pull it out at any time.
